About DABALI THEATRE

With an aim of preserving and promoting the theatre culture and other cultural heritages in Nepal, DABALI theatre was formed in 1995. It was a very critical moment in the Nepali theatre history. The proscenium theatre had failed to draw the attention of the people towards it. So, the young and enthusiastic artists were experimenting with street theatre as well proscenium theatre. Right at this juncture of Nepali theatre history, DABALI Theatre emerged. As a forum of theatre artists, DABALI Theatre always promotes Nepali theatre workers and helps them to hone their skills. DABALI Theatre, too, exploits both the street and the proscenium arch to fulfill its objectives.
